Tarsha Beavers, publisher of Urban Annapolis Magazine, recently celebrated the launch of the new Urban Annapolis Magazine. The launch was celebrated with a semi-formal event at the Sheraton Annapolis on September 30, 2011.
Tarsha Beavers said, "It was truly a wonderful experience to celebrate with the toast of Annapolis. The City of Annapolis is really excited to have a publication that includes the full texture of the city. We are excited to be a welcomed voice to those who do not feel included and things can only get better from here."
Urban Annapolis Magazine is a quarterly print magazine dedicated to the urban culture in and around Annapolis, Maryland. Published by an African American woman, the publication is striving to provide positive examples of what is happening in the urban community and to be a mouthpiece for it.
"We want to be a medium for our culture, to be an outlet for us to be able to see ourselves, to promote our initiatives and to celebrate our accomplishments. It does our community good to see all the great things that we are doing because we are doing a lot of them. You do not always see or hear about the positive things that are happening in the community but if we see more examples of them more are sure to follow."
