EMI gospel recording artist, VaShawn Mitchell is a two-time Grammy nominated, six-time Stellar award winner, composer, philanthropist, motivational speaker and founder of The Norman Youth Arts Foundation.

 

With the release of his latest CD "Created 4 This," Mitchell will partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Brothers in Action to nationally recruit more African American men to become mentors and strengthen their communities.  Mentoring Brothers in Action is a movement formed in collaboration with the nation's three largest African American fraternities, Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi and Omega Psi Phi, to engage more Black men to get involved in one-to-one mentoring to change the odds for African American boys.

Singer/Songwriter Tiffany Monique released her new video, "Anytime," the second single from her debut EP, Nemesis, yesterday on YouTube. The video was produced by Kevin Ryan, directed by "The Last American B-Boy" of Monstar Films and filmed in the singer's hometown of Newark, New Jersey. Tiffany is most popularly known as one of "The Mamas" -- background vocalists for pop superstar, Beyonce. In "Anytime," the singer showcases her metamorphosis as a woman and singer.

VH1's beloved, popular franchise, "VH1 Divas," announced today additional performers to join this year's tribute to soul music. Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Boyz II Men, Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius and Travie McCoy will join VH1's "divas" in paying homage to these cities and soul music's timeless classics at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom. "VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul" premieres Monday, December 19 at 9 PM/8c on VH1.

Nominees for the 27th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, gospel music's biggest night of the year, were revealed in last Saturday's special one-hour live telecast from Nashville's NorthStar Studios, "The Stellar Awards Nomination Concert and Announcements" on Atlanta-based GMC Network. The Stellar Gospel Music Awards is the first and only annual nationally-televised awards show honoring African American gospel music artists.
