Day 1 Single Mothers Protection Center

Day 1 Single Mothers Protection Center is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization operating in the Baltimore-DC Metro area. Our mission is to provide single mothers with educational resources, assistance, referral services and hope. 

Apart of our commitment in helping single mothers is to also provide services for their families. Our Years to Life program is a community based program scheduled to launch in 2013. Our organization has partnered with several places of worship, community centers, and other community based organizations to provide a program to help single fathers find employment in the Baltimore area. This program serves men in the Baltimore-DC area with a particular focus on Black men. The goal of the program is to provide real solutions to the problems facing our community regarding single parent led households and incarceration.

Our "Kissed by the Sun" program is a self-esteem empowerment series for young girls of color. The program uses hip-hop and the arts to help young girls develop a positive image of themselves in order to counter balance the negative, stereotypical images of women of color in the media.
